"Urwald-Forsthaus, am Urwaldrande des Meruberges in Arusha" ("Forester's house in the primeval forest, on the edge of the primeval forest of Mount Meru in Arusha"). A group of Africans, a European, Mr. and Mrs. Blumer, Mr. and Mrs. Ihmels and a dog in front of a mud house thatched with plant fiber. Leonhard Blumer (1878-1938), from Kida in Estonia, served the Leipzig Mission as pastor and teacher in Arusha from 1907 to 1930 (apart from home leave in 1912-1913 and 1924-1926).
