"Wohnhütte v. christl. Häuptling Alinane in Inamwanga." ("Dwelling of the Christian Chief Alinane in Inamwanga.") A man is sitting on the threshold of his thatched house. Beside him: a child, wearing traditional clothes. Alinane is the son of the Mukoma, the sacral ruler of Inamwanga who supported Brother Gemuseus and Brother Tietzen in finding a suitable place for a new Mission station in Inamwanga. Alinane was one of the first African Christians in Inamwanga. -- Ernst Hermann Schnabel (1904-1953) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine and served in East Africa until the end of the 1930s. In 1934, he married Käthe Prellwitz in Kyimbila.
