Break during a journey, Tanzania, ca.1929-1930

("Break in a journey at the Ruswiswi stream at the base of the Bundali mountains towards the side of Rungwe. -> Sister Schärf."). Stream with at least four Africans and Else Schärf sitting on the grass and on a tree trunk. Photo taken during the visitation of Brother Samuel Baudert 1929/1930. -- Else Schärf (born 1892, year of death unknown) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. She was a deaconess and received training not only as a nurse but also in the care of mothers and lepers. She served from 1928 for many years at the leprosy hospital in Isoko.
