Sick parade, Ancuabe, Mozambique, March-April 1918

1918

“Waiting for sick parade.” Exterior view showing men sitting around beneath trees. Capt. Irvine was treating members of the Carrier Corps who were supplying the front line. ❧ This image is from an album chronicling the war time experiences of Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) in Portuguese East Africa with the Royal Army Medical Corps. During the war he met with missionaries in East Africa which in turn lead to him joining the mission at Tumutumu and then establishing the mission at Chogoria, both in Kenya.
