“Falling in after a scrap with the Germans” Exterior scene showing soldiers gathering together in formation. They are probably men of the 4/4 King’s African Rifles, or Nigerian Brigade, whom Capt. Irvine had joined to take care of the porters who supported the line. ❧ This image is from an album chronicling the war time experiences of Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974) in Portuguese East Africa with the Royal Army Medical Corps. During the war he met with missionaries in East Africa which in turn lead to him joining the mission at Tumutumu and then establishing the mission at Chogoria, both in Kenya.
