This image belongs to an album of photographs collected by Dr. Stevenson and includes images from India, China and Africa. ❧ Following the First World War the Church of Scotland missions took over the work of the Berlin Missionsgesellschaft in Iringa in 1920. ❧ German East Africa (Tanganyika Territory) was awarded to Britain under mandate by the League of Nations in 1922 and achieved independence in 1961 as Tanzania.
