Schwester Frieda Wetzel (Gonja) mit wurmkrankem Kind ("Nurse Frieda Wetzel (Gonja) with child suffering from worms"). Photograph of nurse Wetzel in front of a house supporting an emaciated child. Elfriede (known as Frieda) Wetzel (1902-2006), from Sorgau, served the Leipzig Mission as a nurse and midwife. In 1933 she was delegated to the mission hospital in Machame. Later she was stationed in Gonja. Her husband was missionary Karl Stapff.
