"Isoko. Andacht im Leprakrankenhaus. Dr. med. O. Fischer." ("Isoko. Prayers at the leprosy hospital. Dr. O. Fischer."). In the background a bamboo fence on the right a grass-roofed rectangular house made of bamboo canes. On the far left a European man stands with an open book in his hands on the right Else Schärf and one African man, both wearing white gowns and a white cloth around their heads. In front of them a group of ca. 25 seated or crouching male patients. Cf. photo no. 8706. -- 1 photo included from the box of duplicates. -- Information on the second copy: "Andacht bei Leprakranken in Isoko." ("Prayers with lepers in Isoko."). -- Else Schärf (born 1892, year of death unknown) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. She was a deaconess, received training not only a as a nurse but also in the care of mothers and lepers and served from 1928 for many years at the leprosy hospital in Isoko.
