Mission at the bottom - City Mission in Madagascar. Madagascar is a fertile country and rich in metals and gems. In 1975, after the independence from France, Colonel Didier Ratsira was chosen as the second president. Private businesses were nationalized, French was discarded in favor of Madagassi. This led to disastrous consequences, especially for the school system, because no school books in Madagassi had been written yet. Photo 1997
