Colossal Statue of the Egyptian Pharoah Rameses II at the Court of Rameses II in Temple of Luxor. The statue has clenched hands and stands with one foot in front of the other, common poses for Egyptian statues during this time period. It is surrounded by pillars decorated with artwork and hieroglypics. The city of Luxor is home to several important archeological sites, including the temples of Luxor and Karnak and the burial sites known as the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, (1896).
