Popover style tins are used to bake the rice bread over a low outdoor fire in a kitchen shelter at a village. Men, women and children all help with the process. The following information is printed on the back of the postcard: "Mission des Religieuses de la Providence à Madagascar, Procures: Couvent de la Providence, Corenc (Isère), ou Mère Berckmans, Providence St-Germain, La Tronche (Is.)." There is no handwriting on the back.
