Egypt - The Great Pyramid

1933

A view of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. The near view shows two entrances. Small groups of people mill in front of the entrances, showing the size of the limestone blocks. The Pyramid was built for the Pharaoh Khufu (also known as Cheops) between 2560 and 2580 BCE. Comprised of at least two million large stone blocks, the Pyramid was originally 481 feet tall. It was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and is the only one that still exists, (1933).
