2011

President Barack H. Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper hold a joint press conference in the South Court Auditorium within the Dwight D. Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Obama talks about ties between the U.S. and Canada. He comments on the global economy, trade with Canada, border security issues, and the situation in Egypt. Harper responds first in French then translates his remarks into English. He says he and Obama are issuing a joint declaration about the shared border and the flow of trade and people across it. They take questions from the media on Egypt, energy, and how the joint declaration might affect Canadian sovereignty.
