Bongani Mgijima, former director of the Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum, talks about establishing the museum in a discussion entitled, "Telling the migrant labour story: Lwandle Museum in post-apartheid South Africa." Mgijima describes the effort behind preserving a migrant hostel built in the 1950's and turning it into a museum commemorating the history of migrant labour workers. Lwandle Migrant Museum Program Director Masa Soko describes what is included in the museum's walking tour and how it reflects on the history of Lwandle. The speakers are introduced by John Beck, professor of Human Resources and Labor Relations, and Kurt Dewhurst, director emeritus of the Michigan State University Museum.
