Leading Nigerian poet Niyi Osundare writes on the nature of cities in Nigeria, Africa and the world. Cities are supposed to be inspiring -- for example, Dublin for James Joyce, Abeokuta, Ibadan and Ishara for Wole Soyinka, and London for Charles Dickens -- but they have been dehumanized. In his work, Osundare tries to incorporate every part of the world he has visited.
