Town square, Johannesburg, between city hall and public library showing tram terminus for northern and western suburbs, and the municipal owned public library built in 1935. it is the largest library in South Africa, has 500,000 volumes. In the library buildings are the Africana and Geological museums and a Repertory Theatre. The site was formerly the market square in pioneer days.
