Rainbow over Haj Andalus, a Suburb of Tripoli

1978

Haj Andalus was a fashionable residential suburb for wealthier people before the revolution of 1969. Since there is very little rain, rainbows occur only three or four times a year. The protuberance on the corner of the terrace wall (bottom left of picture) shields a small stove from the wind and enables cooking outside.
