American observatory on the 'The Mount of Moses in Egypt'._x000D_
Set on the highest peak in Egypt, the rugged, snowcapped Mount Sinai , which rises 11,000 feet above the arid deserts of the Sinai Peninsular, is the Solar Observatory of the Smithsonian Institution of America. Here, a staff of scientists carry out their observations of the heavens. Mount Sinai, which is on the peninsula of the head of the Red Sea, between the Gulfs of Akabah and Suez, is known to the Arabs as 'Tebel Muse', Mount of Moses._x000D_
