This is an interview with the internationally famous South African artist Clegg. The interview is with David Rycroft and David Coplan, at David Coplan's flat in Berea, Johannesburg. Jonathan Clegg describes the meaning behind the song 'Emadlozini' which he asserts is one of the most beautiful songs ever written by Phuzeshukela. He provides some interesting insight into the song, the Zulu cultural context in which the song was written. Rycroft and Clegg have an informative discussion concerning the language of the Ndebele people. They discuss certain people who speak the Zulu language of Shaka's time. He also describes the informal gambling culture and gambling schools of Johannesburg. Rycroft asks Clegg for biographical information including his personal development as a performer. Clegg provides some very interesting information about his personal biography including the origin of his Zulu name.
