First the singer introduces himself. He is Deng Deng Cyier Yuan Kuei (Yuan Kuei, is his father's nickname and his own nickname is Matuoch). He is from Wunrok district, the village of Mathiang Adiang. He says that he wishes to sing in the cattle camp so that his bulls can answer his voice. His bulls are the following: Makuei (black with a white spot on the head), Marial (black and white) and Mayom (brown with white on the head). But unfortunately he was in Juba where he only heard the sound of cars, not bulls. Then, at the start of the song, he praises his precious cow Mayom (brown cow with white on the head). His song is about the history of his clan. He is a grandson of Cyierdit. who had unique prophetic power. He is famous in the region. His grandmother was Ading, the last wife of Cyierdit. Their clan descends from Apuk Akol. He does not agree with many masters of the fishing spear (spiritual leaders). He mentions that some are selfish; this spoils their spiritual power. He wishes he could ask God to deliver the Apuk family with a priest, and build a house of God so that Adiang Mayom (the section) will dance to celebrate Christianity (in the song: the feast of the bishop'). He appreciates Ariath Makuei (Arianh-dit in the song), the friend of Cyierdit. Just like Cyierdit, Ariath Makuei is acknowledged as a prophet among the Dinka. Ariath Makuei reconciled the Adiang with the Amuol during a tribal conflict. He says his father was a brave man. He explains how his father was mistreated by some educated people in the area. They were jealous of him. His father didn't know how to read but he was a brave man. One day he was sent by the chief to deliver a letter to the chief of the Arabs. In the letter, the chief requested to kill his father, because his father disliked the dominance of the Arabs. But the spirit power of Cyierdit (his father's father) protected him. On the way to the Arabs, he stayed with Deng Kuol, the chief of the Ngok Dinka. Deng Kuol found the letter, and gave it to someone who knew how to read, and this person explained the content. Lastly he appreciates Bol Bol Akot the composer for his uniting the people. Information about performer: time away from Dinka territory: during 70s in Khartoum, age approx. 55, both parents from the Wunrok Payam (Twic County, Bahr El Ghazal).
