Necklace of green beads

For the Xhosa, the colour green symbolises new life. However, the specific placement of the various colours of beads in relation to each other determines the meaning of the entire beadwork. De kleur groen symboliseert bij de Xhosa nieuw leven. De specifieke plaatsing van de diverse kleuren kralen ten opzichte van elkaar bepaalt echter de betekenis van het gehele kralenwerk.
