Master and documentary filmmaker, Mactar Thiam Fall decided to come to Europe to see and meet with his own eyes Western culture after teaching for over 15 years in his country, Senegal. He has lived for 5 years in Catalonia and now returns to Senegal, where with his documentary series ‘Bitim réew\’ (\ ‘Out of the house’), he wants to open a debate to make young people aware that the reality in Europe is very different from how they imagine it. 54 percent of the Senegalese population is between 18 and 30 years old and do not have enough information before leaving the country. He says that there must be a change of mentality and that young immigrants must embark on the journey with the aim of training and acquiring experience to be able to then return to the country and take advantage of everything they have learnt.
