A whole world: Knowing world

2012

Knowing world Irina undertook its first flight from Madagascar to Spain to study a master of Hispanic Philology, and since then has not stopped. Travel and study involve two sources of personal growth for her and also for her husband They met in Madagascar and have lived in Morocco and Equatorial Guinea, until, following the birth of their daughter, they settled in Salou, with the idea, however, to continue travelling when the Jinja is larger. Both are bilingual and have thought about what language their daughter should speak. The father, Spanish speaking, speaks Spanish and Irina chose French, thinking that as they lived outside Madagascar, this would help the Jinja. Its name, however, is Malagasy:\ ‘Jinja\’ means ‘harvest\’. The Irina teaches her daughter elements of this Indonesian language of roots, spoken by 17 million people, hoping that, one day, the Jinja will learn Malagasy in a natural way, accompanied by the people of the island.
