The Thiakh Ababacar has been living in Catalonia for 13 years It is Sufi and belongs to the Brotherhood of the Muridis, founded in Senegal, in the late nineteenth century, by the mystic Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba. The Ababacar, who has a degree in History at the University of Barcelona, is one of the leaders of the centre in Barcelona and has made Sufism his way of practising Islam and a way of living. As a member of the Catalan Association of Residents alders also helps people living in very precarious situations because they have no papers, accompanying and looking for solutions to their problems.
