Ten Veterinary students are preparing to walk the most fertile paths in Uganda to take a course on primates. Uganda is the pearl of Africa, a country with 35 million inhabitants. The aim of the students is to taste the essence of the country, to live with its people and to reach every corner to know our closest relatives. The journey begins in the wetlands of Mabamba, on the shores of Lake Victoria, in search of one of the most sought-after birds by the Ocellists travelling to Africa: the clog peak. From there they thread tracks and infernal roads until they reach the land of the great primates. First they explore the forests of Kibale until they come into contact with a population of wild chimpanzees, and then move to the impenetrable jungle of Bwindi, in the southwest of the country, to meet the challenge of approaching a population of mountain gorillas not very accustomed to visits by humans. Here it goes to yawn. A silver back male weighs two hundred kilos and has more strength in his arms than all students folded together. Guies-teachers: The expedition is guided by Lawrence Mugisha, a world-renowned primate expert, and in the ornithological part, by the naturalist Guillem Chacon. The vet resident Lleida Andorra Jesús Muro is in charge of the organisation.
