The independence of South Sudan will be a reality thanks to the referendum that was held in January. In this chapter we speak with two protagonists of Sudanese origin who have a very different opinion on the formation of this new state. On the one hand, Diya Eldin Mohamed, engineer and translator who lives in Catalonia 26 years ago, on the other, Mohammed Abdelshakur, refugee and activist in Darfur is favourable to independence.
