The leaders of the countries of the Horn of Africa and East Africa have urged the current president of South Sudan and his former vice president, now rivals, to reach a ceasefire before the end of the year. An ultimatum to try to avoid an escalation in the conflict between the two main ethnic groups in the youngest country on the planet that has so far already caused a thousand deaths.
