Malawi women increase yields with new seeds

A group of women farmers in Malawi have teamed up to promote the growth of crops that preserves soil fertility and which do not need much rainfall. The model is in line with calls for farmers to adopt conservation and climate smart agriculture - something championed by the New Economic Partnership for Africa Development and the African Union to avert the effects of climate change on farmers.
