Bavarian opera singer Katrin Caine and conductor Martin Wettges have a mission: to bring the oldest opera house in the southern hemisphere back to life. Located on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, it's 1,800 kilometers from the mainland and 9,000 kilometers from Germany. The annual Mauritius Opera festival draws performers and visitors from far and wide.
